Below are just a few examples of what happens when a photographer goes out onto the street and searches for something interesting to photograph.
It doesn’t matter if it’s night time, day time, or a glorious sunrise, there’s always an opportunity to stop and look, then see the compositions in our surroundings.
Sometimes, a shot is of a person. They might be well dressed, strangely dressed. Or they might be doing something interesting which makes for an opportunity in street photography.
One judge mentioned, off the books, that he would not prosecute anyone who who clearly intends on creating street photos that are designed to be artistic.
It’s a relaxing experience that creates harmony in the mind and body.
Walking is good for you. but if you are walking, and looking, seeing things with an intention to find an interesting composition to frame and photograph, then you’ll find that your walks are much more rewarding – even on a rainy winter’s day.
Not all street photography means people must be in the shot.
Sometimes, if you look hard enough, you’ll discover hidden structures that most people stroll past. This simple composition of a corner at the top of a building offered an interesting form that reminded me of paintings from the 20s.
